Retail Therapy

Women are supposed to like shopping but not me. However eventually the wardrobe becomes so wanting that I have to make an effort.
There is a fire inspection I need to be here for at our unit between 7am and 8:30 in the  morning so I came down by train and stopped in the city before continuing on to Cammeray.

I didn't get off to a good start when my Opal Card wouldn't scan at Blackheath. Apparently the auto top up had turned off! I didn't have time to log on and fix it before the train arrived but had by Katoomba so I hopped off very quickly, scanned, and back on again. With an hour between trains I didn't want to wait for the next, or cop a big fine for not paying.

Then I found that basic items such as warm singlets and skivvies, which I live in, are no longer to be found in city stores. I did manage, with help from a lovely shop assistant, to purchase a couple of pairs of jeans - my other staple.
When we were in Melbourne recently I felt that there were less people about than in the centre of Sydney. That was confirmed today.
I was very glad, lugging a backpack with my shopping and winter clothes, which I needed to peel off, to finally arrive at my destination.
Tonight I've managed to order the skivvies and singlets online so the day has ended more successfully.

The blip was taken inside the beautiful Queen Victoria Building.
