Through the Window……

A bedraggled, rain-damp Myrtle was sitting outside on the laundry windowsill. She was waiting to be gathered up and brought into the dry, warm house. There are puddles sheeting parts of the lawn. Ruby thinks they have appeared for her benefit and had fun racing through them….. “The Zoomies”. This evening Nadine Taylor, our Mayor announced a State of Emergency here in Marlborough. This is to cover specific areas such as the settlement of Spring Creek, north of Blenheim. There is a worry that the big Wairau River may breach a compromised stop-bank. Folk in parts of the settlement have been advised to evacuate their properties very early tomorrow morning before the river reaches its peak flow. Stay safe my friends. Kia kaha.
