Lime tree flowers
25th June! In every previous year the lime trees have started flowering on 7th July. I know this because I watch them closely, being my main source of honey for the year. Usually it also starts raining that day!
This is almost two weeks early, perhaps due to that spell of dry sunny weather in May? It may work to our advantage, the beehives are fairly full of bees, and have space to load up with honey. Perhaps the flowering period will be extended by a couple of weeks? Perhaps the weather will be hot and sunny….. I think that’s asking too much, but we shall see!
I got my new hydrangea planted. It’s a great variegated one, grown from a cutting by Emily next doors mum, and it’s already flowering well. Should make a great bush very quickly.
