Wednesday: Hot Town, Summer In The City

K. and I went to an excellent event at South Bank, namely to hear Jeanette Winterson talk about ‘Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit’ 40 years on.  I remember it coming out (no pun intended) and the subsequent dramatisation so clearly, I can’t quite believe it was so long ago.

Anyway, it was an excellent evening.  Jeanette (as I think it’s ok to call her) was funny, engaging, insightful and charming.  If anything it felt too short (even though it probably wasn’t).

We headed up a bit earlier and had some dinner and a walk along South Bank.  It was hot enough for people to be enjoying the fountains (as they were 14 years ago - it seems if you hang around long enough your blips start to repeat themselves…..:).
