What I've Done

The Gelt Gladiator

I couldn't post these until Wednesday as I was on a press embargo until now.  This past weekend I spent both days photographing a "tough mudder"/ assault course of 6Km event called the Gelt Gladiator.  Over the two days I shot over 5,000 photos, so sorting was a bit of a challenge!

I was stationed at the Fire Jump, where competitors jump over the flames into a muddy pool about 5 feet deep.

The main pic shows the enthusiasm and joy of some of the competitors - and it was great to have them both facing the camera. The extra had me thinking I was seeing double. I shot these identical twins on the first lap, when they jumped individually, so asked them if - on the second lap - they might jump in side by side - and they obliged.

By the end of a very warm day, I was bushed, my back was aching and I was knackered having spent 7+ hours standing in the same spot!

More fun tomorrow.
