Porthmellon
I decided to have a less energetic day today, as Ziggy was looking a bit tired. We walked mainly on footpaths across the middle of the island of St Mary's, through a very pretty area called Holy Vale, and stopped for coffee at Longstone Café. A couple whom we had met on St Martin's last week came over to chat. Ziggy is great as an ice-breaker as everyone remembers him! I also met some ladies who had been on yesterday's St Agnes boat.
We then continued our walk down to Porthmellon Beach and along the coast path to the Gig Shed Restaurant where I had a very tasty salad. After lunch it was down into town and we caught the bus back. I was surprised that the bus was running, as yesterday the driver said there would only be a few early buses and a couple at the end of the afternoon, as he was going to the mainland for a medical check up and someone else was going to cover for him. However because it was a bit foggy here this morning his early flight was cancelled so he'll have to rearrange his hospital appointment. We don't think of things like that when we imagine living in idyllic but difficult to get to places such as this.
Main photo is a path through the sand dunes to the beach. The others were taken on our walk, including more pretty honesty stalls at Holy Vale.
I've added an extra of Ziggy on "our" beach this evening. There's rarely anyone else on the beach but us.
