Migrant housing
This year we have six House Martin nests. Either the youngsters have come back to raise their own families, or they have just brought their friends. Apart from a small pile of mess beneath each nest, they are good neighbours. Always cheerful, they shout and swoop about the house and fields mopping up the local midgies. This couple have been slow to start their build, so are nesting on a shelf, rather than a proper nest, but it is gradually improving.
