Fireman's Lift
My brother T was a fireman for thirty years.
This is a classic image of a rescue which he has had mounted and framed and has pride of place in his home
It encapsulates the unwavering courage and bravery of the emergency services the world over.
My brother doesn't talk much about his life in the service. But I know some of the stories. I know some of the horrors he witnessed and had a part in.
I couldn't have done it.
When my brother heard about my hospital visit he and his wife immediately offered me a bed for the night. Meaning I had company and sustainance after a difficult day.
And it meant my wife did not have to drive a sixty mile round trip to collect me late at night.
My brother, still putting others first and showing care and compassion when it is needed.
And there was whisky.
Many thanks for all the kind thoughts, sympathy and comments for yesterday.
Much appreciated!
