I Witness

Tiny Tuesday ...

... First Monarch Caterpillar.

When we saw our first female monarch butterfly laying eggs on our milkweed last week I knew it wouldn't be long before we would have some cats.

I braved the heat (and humidity) to search through the milkweed where I saw her last week.  And was rewarded when I found our first caterpillar.  This one is only about 1/4 of an inch in length.  And hopefully well on his/her way to becoming a full fledged monarch butterfly.

Thanks to Debbi for hosting Tiny Tuesday this month.

In other news:  Because of this oppressive high 90°F heat we didn't think we would be able to walk today.  But on the way home from a morning appointment we stopped at Housenick Memorial Park for a short walk. We were dripping sweat by the time we were through.  And the pool was a welcome respite from the heat. There is one more day to this heat wave and then we should see a slight drop in temps down into 80's.
