A view of the Foot of the Walk. Some of our friends from the south side of Edinburgh tend to look at us as the poor relations who live in the down at heel, uncouth and unkempt north side, with particular reference to Leith, obviously a trainspotting hangover. Personally I think that these people can keep their petty bourgeois, boring Morningsidelike communities where people, allegedly, don't have sex, and which according to one of SWMBO's academic colleagues is due for demolition anyway. Give me the edgy, vibrant, multicultural and gritty urbanism of places like Leith any day of the week.
