Gently down the stream

Purple Loosestrife

Lythrum salicaria

I got today's blip in the reserve down by the river - purple loosestrife, there's a lot of it about!  I've chosen to concentrate on a single whorl, but if you don't know this wildflower, for context see the extra.  (There is also  a Yellow Loosestrife, but I don't think it's really related).

The sky's been kind of grey all day but the clouds have often been thin giving some very pretty light, which I think you can see here.  And for much of the day it's been a bit cooler, which is something of a relief.

This afternoon in town I bumped into a dear old friend in M&S who talked for so long I was late for my Doc appointment.  Still, when I finally got there it went well and I'm now prescribed stronger painkillers.   Woo hoo!!

Many thanks to NicoiseAnnie and ApolloFly for hosting WFW25 in June!

And that's it for me.  Hope your day's been a good one xx
