Cross-leaved heath

I went up onto Chapel Carn this afternoon and found several clumps of cross-leaved heath, erica tetralix, with its pale pink bells and dainty leaves.

With thanks to Nicoiseannie and ApolloFly for hosting Wildflower Week.

My extra shows some wood sage which I found next to the bridle path that skirts the carn.
