The second half of life..

By twigs

A day for the birds

A light frost this morning but by midday-ish things were well warmed up.  Lots of sunshine, a virtually cloudless sky and an almost balmy 6 degrees!  It really did feel rather warm but not at all the conditions for a hoar frost.

With sunshine and warmth it seemed like a good idea to hunt out some feathered friends.  Pick of the bunch for me was this tiny little grey warbler.  They don't sit still for  a moment and zip in, out and through branches, up and down trunks and then from tree to tree so happy to have captured him in a reasonably clear location.

I've never seen black swans on the Wairepo Arm before but I saw at least 4 today, and some Canada Geese.  Not sure what the local ducks will make of the newbies - or maybe they're not newbies - is it just me who has been unobservant in the past?!
