Quod oculus meus videt

Earliest Light

Now that the large Leylandii hedge is no more, at this time of year we get the early sun directly into the garden. It leads to brightly lit flowers and deep shadow behind. In the absence of any other serious photography, I grab the camera to capture this self set foxglove spike before it completes its flowering.

We are coming into what might be best described as the main extended family birthday and anniversary weeks, so we popped out to get some presents, before a walk. We managed to dodge the showers, though there was still a mugginess to the atmosphere, despite much cooler temperatures.
