Swim

Cycle ride to Wardie Bay to swim first thing. The tide was well out so there was firm sand on the beach. The wall is the very long Eastern breakwater for Granton harbour. Saw a couple of eider ducks also swimming. Was able to get back before the first heavy shower of the morning.

Afternoon walk to Newhaven mostly between more showers; saw a tern. The Azamara Quest was still at the cruise terminal (she left later in the evening and is now in Aberdeen), along with a couple of smaller boats. The Scinitilla Maris is a 'marine boutique hotel' conversion from a big fishing vessel. The ferry is back at the Albert dock.

Came back by tram. Days like this make it obvious why umbrellas in Edinburgh need to be substantial.
