Bee on mallow
Smithers and I were having a restful day because we were both feeling a little weary. The Traveller and his girlfriend had gone out for brunch with friends, and we had enjoyed a quiet lunch together after online church. I then went out and took a few photos of insects and flowers in the garden, so here’s a carder bee on a mallow flower, which seems appropriate because National Insect Week starts tomorrow.
Back indoors, I resumed my dressmaking, and was just pressing the top of my dress in the hall (there’s no room for the ironing board in the nearby craft room) when I spotted a familiar car pull on to our drive. It was an impromptu, and very welcome, visit from our middle son and his family. Not long afterwards The Traveller and his girlfriend arrived home, so suddenly there were eight of us in the house, which rang with laughter and lots of chatting.
