Coll (the new pier)

It rained heavily in the night, but the wind direction changed and our tents stopped shaking and bulging as if they were in a wind-tunnel.

We packed up and whizzed the 5miles return to Arinagour with the wind at our backs; the kids actually enjoyed it!!

Around An Cridhe, there were a few tired looking faces. The after-race ceilidh had no doubt been a late affair. Soon enough, it was time to head to the pier for the ferry back to Oban. Clearly we weren't going to have a seat this time. The pier was jampacked with runners and riders. Rob Wainwright (ex-Scotland rugby captain now farmer) milled about. When the ferry came round the corner from Tiree there was a frisson of excitement amongst the waiting throng. Time for me to run up to the whale-bones for a last pic before the camera battery died.
