Dave Day Dahlia

It was warm , close but not sunny. Rain was forecast.  .. and it came. 

We left the car at home and walked up to the park.  It was very quiet as most of the town was gearing up for 'Dave Day' , in memory of Dave Myers, a Barrow lad who became famous for his Hairy Bikers cookery/travel  series with Si King. 
Thousands of bikers set off from London in 27 degrees at 7am this morning. A long hot ride but for a good cause as all money raised is for Charity. NSPC and Cancer research 

 Robbie was raring to go and didn't seem to mind when it started raining . At least it was warm rain

Just as the first lot of bikers arrived in Barrow the sun came out! 
Lots of videos on Facebook showed a good turn out of well wishers had lined the roads to cheer the bikers on. 
There was the rumble of engines in the distance and later a rumble of thunder but not much rain. 

Blip is of the dahlia which we bought several years ago at Barton Grange.  A big garden centre and worth a look if you havent a dog. . Not dog friendly.
