Almond and Lavender cake

This is my first attempt at the Almond and Lavender cake recipe that I pinned recently. I have to admit that I'm not convinced that I'll try it again because, on first tasting, it isn't as delicious as the amount of faff and the number of ingredients would have you believe.

Having said that, it wasn't my best ever bake, and I would certainly need to adjust baking times and temperature for my oven. I think I would probably add more Lavender too. Given that I bought a tube pan especially for this cake I should probably try again, and this time I'll make the icing a little stiffer too!
