Celebration

I attended a celebration of life for a teaching colleague, Rick Carpenter. Rick was the industrial arts and woodworking teacher at McMinnville High School, a perfect position with his last name Carpenter. Rick was such a nice guy, great teacher, a scratch golfer, and excellent golf coach at the high school. Great speakers telling funny and touching stories. Moving. I saw many of the “old guard” that I taught with. The service ended with a video of his life, and they started the soundtrack with a song that warmed this old Deadhead’s heart, “Ripple.” Here it is, and here’s to Rick.
