Locomotion at Shildon
Train museum. They built loads of locomotives and rolling stock there. I seem to remember 20,000+ trucks to carry coal as well as thousands of other items. There was also a Singer car rally on. Cars built in Coventry. Nothing to do with the sewing machines. A man told me that the sewing machine company was American. I thought Singer was British. The main picture shows my hubby standing next to a locomotive that he has driven. His Dad was a train driver and when he was a boy he used to go to the 'sheds' with his Dad and ride on the footplate. Occasionally he was allowed to drive the train.
