Today's the day ....................... to keep a close eye

SongWave  choir were performing this afternoon in the Town Hall in New Galloway, so Will and I went across to hear them.  They were in fine voice - and it was good to meet up again with some of my former choir mates to catch up with their news.

On the way home, we came upon a very busy field where they were in full action, cutting the grass for silage and then taking it away in big trucks to where it would be processed further.  It involved several huge tractors pulling various bits of kit, requiring immense precision and split second timing to get everything in the right place at the right time.

The whole process was fascinating to watch - but there was an added attraction that was even more interesting to me.  There must have been getting on for a dozen or so red kites, wheeling and turning in the sky (see extra).  They were keeping a close eye on the process too - hoping to cash in on a bit of dinner that might show itself below .........................
