Or maybe “Herbie Rides Again” ;) These are Birch Catkin Bugs which is probably why I found them on some... birch catkins! They’re only about 5mm long and I can’t remember seeing them ever before but I doubt I’ve ever really looked properly. But that’s the thing with animal macro photography… it often takes me 10 minutes to adjust my sense of scale and start noticing things at that level. It’s astounding what’s actually there if you can be bothered to look. There's a different couple as an extra.
