Chicory

Chicory blooms bright blue when everything else around it is finished. It almost always appears in patches of dry (as in crispy) grass. We are there already this year although it seems early. It's been quite windy today though not as hot, but we're already on the alert for wildfires. It's always something....

I got a 'benign' report from Redwood Dermatology which made me happy. John however, two hours later, got less good results and has two appointments, one for a MOHS procedure with our friend Dr. Peng. He seemed remarkably cheerful about it....Taking things as they come, can be incredibly frustrating but there are moments when it's just as well.

I have declared Spike's haircut-on -the-run finished. He looks fairly spiffy and made his debut at Trail House this morning. His best friend, Shelby, she who brings a new bag of treats, was there this morning with her new bag of treats. Dan and Bob were full of plans for hooking up the big pot they got from us to a bubbler. See extra for a preview. It's going to look nice and we also made plans to gather there as a group on the 4th of July to admire it in it's finished installation. It takes a village...and we are an exceptional one!

I was saddened to read the news of Blipper Folkiebooknerd's passing. She and her partner Paula were able to celebrate a joyful wedding just a few weeks before she died. She was positive to the end. Rest in Peace, Folkie, and heartfelt condolences to Paula.
