Gannets
It was another very hot day and we decided to visit Bempton Cliffs. I hadn't been there before and although I knew what to expect I was still very surprised at the sheer size of the landscape, the cliffs and numbers of birds. The beautiful meadows and the easy footpaths and viewing platforms. We spent a couple of hours watching and photographing the birds and trying together sightings of the puffins. Once we spotted them it was easier to find them but photographing them in flight was another matter as they move so very quickly. An enjoyable couple of hours.
After lunch we headed to Filey Brigg and viewed the narrow headland of rock from the cliffs above. Some interesting geology and abstract shapes and patterns. We drove back to Scarborough and wandered around the South Bay as I hadn't seen it before. After tea we visited Robin Hood Bay a very picturesque fishing village which is pedestrianised. More photos were taken and one of a pub is shown in extras.
