From Sandsend north of Whitby looking back to the inspiration of Bram Stokers Dracula. You'll need to zoom in pretty hard to see the Abbey but its there on the left!

Madness on the north east coast today. Sunshine, tourists, traffic and throngs of the population convening on any bits of available space fighting to enjoy themselves in the breeze and their 2ft square pitches of sand.

Needless to say we didn't hang around in fact if your not lined with hard cash and starving hungry then Sandsend is not the place for you. Turfed out of one place unless 'you want to eat later' (it was 1:30pm!) and realising every other establishment was a debit card free zone we made haste and made headway back to the safety net of Lancashire.

York and a Yorkshire weekend done and relatively unscathed! ;-)
