Fields Of Gold

The barley fields around here are ripening rapidly..and this one looked particularly golden in the morning sunshine.

An early start for my walk today..I was out just after 7 a.m. - it was a pleasant start to the day.

By midday the car thermometer registered 30C - as we fought our way home through the roadworks traffic on the A1 after meeting our daughter for coffee!

Typical Friday lunchtime I guess..

A bit cloudier..but not much cooler during the afternoon.
