"Just A Quick Coat Of Paint", Day 5.

I wasn't going to touch the door as it was OK at a distance but E was keen to paint that too.  However, the adhesion of the current top coat was rather more by static electricity than anything else - peeling off in sizeable patches with no effort.

Thus it needed to come off.  Sanding just made a peel'y mess, so it was off with the door and out with the hot air gun.

I am now getting tempted to recover the original wooden surface properly.
