Baking Day

The weather has been so changeable today, that I decided to make today a baking day. Pecan pie was my goal. It is at this point I have to make an admission, making pastry intimidates me. My mum makes the most amazing pastry, to the point that even from childhood, Dad and I would fight for the leftovers of whatever pie she decided to make, savoury or sweet. But that pastry making gene appears to have skipped a generation. Every pastry making endeavour ends in disaster. What is the secret?
Anyway my pastry making trials have nothing to do with this shot, which I took when the sun burst through the clouds for a moment, but I felt like sharing my dilemma anyway
