Noritake N1709 tea cup

I was talking to my cousin about tea cups today as she likes her “cuppa”.

She has a Wedgwood Cunard Cup & Saucer as she’s been on the QEII three times now. Our grandfather (maternal) and some of his brothers helped build the first QE at Brown’s Shipyard and I was telling her that my uncle (paternal) was a Captain for Cunard and also work in their offices.

I then showed her this Noritake cup that had been my grandmother’s(paternal). There were a few tea cups, a couple of small plates and a creamer. Despite only a few pieces, I just always loved them and so I ended up with them.

I have tried a few times and a few different ways to see about getting a few more of the pieces but never had any luck. I think I found out why today. Noritake discontinued this pattern in 1908!
