Summer roses
As the day warmed up after yesterday’s cooler grey skies I spent a couple of hours on church admin. By the time I’d finished summer had arrived.
A gorgeous day to be in the garden. Eventually I stirred myself to plant some dwarf pillar fruit trees which arrived yesterday. There had been an offer on: effectively 4 random trees for £10 in total plus postage. Presumably stock not sold earlier in the year.
I’d soaked them overnight. When I unpacked the bundle there were in fact 6 trees ( 2 different varieties of apple; a pear; a plum; a sweet cherry; a sour cherry.). It made the challenge of where to plant them even greater.
They may survive an Edinburgh winter: we’ll see. If they do we’ll have both blossom and eventually fruit ( fingers crossed).
The roses are in full bloom just now. I really liked the backlit photo but my wife prefers the full colour range. So an extra.
