Lions tail
What an amazing plant this is. I had three small plants from a friend and they have multiplied in three years. They also grow peculiar flowers, like a pagoda they develop three, up to five floors of yellow flowers and when they have flowered their seed capsules are equally beautiful. Translated from Swedish it's called "Lions tail", in latin it's Phlomis russellana.
The day has been windy and pretty chilly but towards the evening it calmed down so I went for a walk on the edge of Alvaret and found lots of this fun and beautiful orchid, a "Powder burner" 'Krutbrännare' in swedish and Neotinea ustulata in latin. The name is said to origin from the tool used to ignite the fuse on a cannon.
