Hetty and I went out earlier than usual, before it was too hot.

This proved fortuitous because we saw an otter swimming along whilst dragging a pike bigger than itself! And it was close up. 

It's a shame these things never happen when I'm ready with a camera.

I spent this morning making Rhubarb cordial and coronation chickpea. Favourites of Florence.

She's coming home this evening. Partly to be with her mum and dad on the anniversary of the accident (she's been struggling) and partly for the wedding this weekend.

I've stayed in all day, to avoid the heat, but did mow the lawn after our evening meal.
