For the family

What would I do without my crafts!

I was woken this morning by a call from the surgery to say that the GP needed to speak to B as his blood test results from yesterday are back. Sounded ominous by the tone of voice. B was out walking Amber and so it was arranged that we had a telephone appointment about 10am.

Amongst the blood tests was a PSA and it was the only thing that would warrant this degree of urgency, so I looked up the normal levels etc to be prepared.

The other info that I read was that exercise was to be avoided in the 48hs prior to the test. Oops !!!!!! B spent an hour in the gym on Tuesday evening. I think that he might of boobed!!!!

We got sorted ready to take the call and waited, and waited……..

Thank goodness for my knitting. If you don’t pick up as soon as the phone rings, you miss your slot.

I rang them back at about 11.30 to see how the list was going, it prompted the GP to call. I was able to tell her that if the PSA was raised it was possibly due to the exercise and ask that it was repeated before she starts referring him on to a Urologist.

Appointment made for blood test on Monday. No gym session until after then.

The GP seemed to think that she had advised him not to exercise before the test. No lady you didn’t, I was sitting next to him and I’m sure she doesn’t have any clue that he spends two one hour sessions at the gym a week.

Panic over for the time being. But the opportunity to do a little bit of research to answer the question, how high does the exercise raise the level and what is normal for him.

The afternoon got us off the phone and settee, to do the food shopping.

A roasting hot day today !!!!!

Too hot for the trains. R was due to attend a function this afternoon in London, returning tonight. She got as far as Milton Keynes and had to turn round to return home, as she was running so late.
