Tutsan in Narnia
A pleasant hour or so in Narnia, the C S Lewis Reserve, this morning, for the first time in ages. The trees are in full-on summer greenery with loud birdsong of various kinds. There was a heron and lots of dragonflies and damselflies around the water. Tutsan is a plant related to St John’s Wort. The noticeboard at the entrance to the reserve says that its broad oval leaves are tough and flat and were often used as bookmarks, especially in bibles.
