Trachelospermum jasminoides
** Backblip for Monday **
Despite my own garden being in need of attention, I gave up my morning to help keep on top of the churchyard at St Luke’s, which is a team effort akin to painting the Forth Bridge. To be fair, I prefer doing my own garden in the very late afternoon when it’s cooler. I spent a couple of hours weeding in the shade alongside the church building itself, and it looked much better for it. Being a red brick Victorian building over 160 years old, it’s also prudent to get the weeds away from it before their roots can start causing any damage.
After lunch I popped up to Tesco’s for a few interim bits, and then spent the rest of the day going through admin online while my gardener cut the lawns back and front. Thankfully this alone makes the place at least vaguely presentable so I’m glad I kept him on. One of my emails brought shocking and sad news about a very long-standing work colleague - younger than me - who died unexpectedly at the weekend. Not for the first time, I urge readers to make the most of every single day and, above all, to be kind and thoughtful to everyone you encounter.
I shall endeavour to catch up with Blip - right now there simply aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything. Take care, everyone.
