a lifetime burning

By Sheol

A rather pretty little bee, which looks more like a bee designed by a soft toy company than most.  It is half the size of a honey bee and was quite fast moving, so this was the only shot I got of it, and I felt lucky to have even managed that.

It's quite warm here in the UK, just at the moment, as you may well know. Like many we've had the bedroom windows open at night to help cool down the bedroom and aid sleep.

Unfortunately at nearly 4am this morning, I was woken by the sound of loud voices from somewhere outside.  After a while it became clear that several people were loading a van up the road and having a loud conversation while they did. Giving up any thought of sleep, I stood at the window to see if I could see who they were.

It turned out to be a house 250 yards up the road, which is owned by the boss of the local construction services company.  After a quarter of an hour (though it seemed much longer) they eventually slammed shut the doors of the van and drove off, and I was left to try to get back to sleep.  It being warm, it took a while.   As a result, I've been feeling tired all day and need an early night. I shall have a nice cold beer this evening to try to aid the process.  It's in the fridge and even now I can imagine the condensation dripping down the bottle ....

Now that would have made a much more interesting blip!
