Raffle orchid

One of the prizes that I won in the raffle at the animal rescue centre's open day that I went to last week was this beautiful orchid. It's a colour that I've found quite difficult to photograph these last few days but I finally managed to take one shot today that I'm not too unhappy with even though I've still not succeeded in capturing the orchid's colour the way it really looks, which is actually a darker purple.

My cockatiel Mieke has been a real pain while I was uploading my blip because she kept playing with the scrolling wheel of my mouse. Fortunately she eventually got tired of it and is now sitting quietly dozing on my left wrist so I can finally type this.

I don't have a meeting to go to the next two Mondays so I've been able to have a relatively lazy day today. Not having a meeting to go to also means that I can go to the sanctuary tomorrow afternoon and walk one of their dogs.
