Chambord

We visited the magnificent chateau and park at Chambord today. This is the view up through the middle of the main double-spiral staircase, thought to have been designed (or at least inspired) by Leonardo da Vinci, and where two people can walk upstairs at the same time and never meet each other, apart from catching glimpses through the windows. The light at the top is daylight shining in through the glass lantern on the roof.
