Large Tree Nymph (Idea leuconoe)
Well, we hit 30°c today in the butterfly house this morning - it was Hot, Hot, Hot.
We currently have loads of butterflies flying in the sunshine and it was quite magical.
Today’s blip is of one of our newly emerged butterflies - the Large Tree Nymph and it’s a rather large butterfly, with a wingspan of 12-14cm and a rather lazy, sleepy flying style - truly beautiful. It’s from south east Asia and is also called the Paper Kite Butterfly or the Rice Paper Butterfly.
