A vantage point on
the North Thompson River was
sparkling this morning

I slept in until almost 7 which put me in a state of panic for a few minutes. It's garbage collection day and the bins are to be out on the street by 7. I was falling down on my responsibilities!!

I was off to Schubert Drive Lookout along the North Thompson River. I discovered 3 vans parked in the small lot when I arrived. Were they sleeping overnight there? I couldn't hear any sounds or see anyone.

I got my shot of my mountains in dazzling light. Then I walked down to the river bank on the south side facing the city. I disturbed a small flock of Canada geese who quietly slid themselves into the river. I watched them paddle upstream and struggle around the point. The young ones really had to work against the current. They are almost identical to the adults now.

I looked to the north where the Halston Bridge and the railway bridge cross the river. All looks golden this morning.

I took a look around the flower beds, then started for home.

As I was leaving the parking area, a couple walked by on the sidewalk dragging heavy, old suitcases. They wandered down to the spot where the geese had launched. I suspect they are homeless.

I'm home with the dreaded paperwork. Hopefully, I can put it aside temporarily after today.
