The Pensioner

The Gardens

We’d a talk to attend at the National Galleries – Forensic Architecture; we’d seen their stuff when they were Turner nominees -  they do hugely impressive visual reconstructions of the timeline of violent acts pulled together from all the internet resources they can get their mitts on. For me it did raise some questions about their context – I get the impression their default position on state power is that it’s malevolent (eg racist US policing) and full of bad actors. A depressing viewpoint on reality. It raised a question for the SK too - and she asked it! With the audience roving microphone and everything. Bold.

After that I handed in my iPhone to get a new battery and went and sat in the gardens reading (yes, without my iPhone!!!) for a couple of hours.
Calling back at 4:30pm I was told they couldn’t replace the battery as the heads of the screws for the case had rubbed their little selves smooth. Bah. I got the bus home and the SK told me to take my sunglasses off. I did, but where were my glasses? Not in my bag. Left on the bus? I filled in the Lothian buses lost property form. Double bah.

* Today of course I found my glasses, in the drawer with my electrical cables and iPhone charger pack. Tsk.
