Seaside
Day out at the seaside today. We drove to Sheringham, where we first watched some model boats on the boating lake, before walking up the hill by the golf course to the RNLI viewpoint. From there we watched a steam train going up the coast, and then walked down to the beach. We walked along the beach, and stopped for a very nice savoury filled crepe at the far end.
We then drove through to Cromer, stopping for a cuppa at a cafe in the car park. We walked down the switchbacks to the beach, and along the shoreline. There were definitely only three groups of people out -- pensioners, mums and toddlers, and students who'd just finished their exams.
We walked under the pier, and then went a bit further before walking to the end of the pier for ice cream - rhubarb and custard, and strawberry cheesecake. They were both tasty!
We saw a variety of military planes during the day - a Spitfire first thing, some much more modern Typhoons later, an American F15 and then two planes which might have been the modern equivalent of a Hercules.
We then walked back to the car along the clifftop and returned to the cottage. Dinner was a lovely meal at a local bistro.
The main blip is Cromer Pier, the extra is a gentleman reading his book at Sheringham. Though I'm sure he's actually asleep under that hat...
