With Liz
I’ve had a lovely day. I met an old uni friend at Edinburgh Waverley (can’t believe we met 60 years ago) and we decided to walk to the portrait gallery. En route we stopped for coffee at Harvey Nicks and before we knew it, it was time to get walking back over to St Mary’s Street for lunch at David Bann, without ever getting to the gallery. I was really pleased by how much better Liz seemed compared with last year when she got quite muddled and confused. She did say she has memory issues but we had a tasty lunch and lots of chat. She was a bit tearful when we parted at the station, saying how much she’d enjoyed the day and that we shouldn’t leave it so long next time.
I had a lovely train ride over the Forth Bridge and oldest friend Jenny met me at Kinghorn station. I walked 2.5 miles today. We are going to have a gin. Or two. She’s a doctor and assures me it is purely medicinal.
