Birch, Santa and something Odd
Another day on the road, now from Sweden to Finland. Once there, it has gone north. And now the sunny days are over, but we do not care about that. It is raining and quite cold.
We stopped for fika at a very nice local history museum in Tervola. Two very young, very blonde and very shy girls were working there. But the fika was good anyway. It was so nice to see all the presidents of Finland on the wall, there are thirteen with the current Alexander Stubb. And we can name them all.
Extras: Outside the café I saw something strange. Yes, I realise you are looking at the blue tit, but it is not that strange. Look at the birch tree instead, it has burgundy leaves. It is the unusual birch Betula pendula “Purpurea”. I have never seen one like it before.
Now something for those of you who have doubts about Santa's whereabouts. I have said it before and I will say it again, Santa lives in Rovaniemi. You can see the photo proof.
But I think one of his reindeer looks very strange. It probably qualifies as today's Odd Attraction.
