Fog on the Tyne

We are up north again for the weekend. I drove up and had my fog lights on for the last 20 miles or so.

As the morning progressed it cleared up a little bit, but after taking M-I-L shopping in Lidl we took her to the customs house for a coffee and the fog was rolling in up the river as can be seen in this photo of the Tyne Ferry.

It cleared up again and early evening when we were heading to my dad’s it was lovely up on the Leas. On the first extra looking North you can see the light houses at the mouth of the Tyne, St Mary’s Lighthouse off Whitley Bay , and Lynemouth Power station on the right. The second extra is taken from Whitburn ( we were having an ice cream) looking south to the mouth of the Wear at Sunderland, and on the horizon the North York Moors.
