Le 15 aout

15th August is a bank holiday in France and a special one for Le Puy because they do what I call 'taking the vierge for a walk' - I'm sure there's a technical term for it. There's lots of processions with the virgin statue, all of which I missed due to work but there was a candle lit procession in the evening which I imagine would have been pretty if I had bothered to stay. This is people gathering for the procession, and it's the only picture I took today. I went home to drink tea and catch up with my mum on the phone instead.
