Messing about with macro

This will sound stupid to anyone knowledgeable about cameras and lenses, but I could never figure how to use the macro setting on my telephoto lens as the setting button wouldn't budge. Today I discovered something akin to the secret of the universe! It was a bit hit and miss, but a good start. There are some extra shotties.
