Silver Y
Today we have our third hire car delivered! It’s another EV3 but this time it’s midnight black rather than the gorgeous pistachio green we’ve had for the last four months. I definitely prefer the green! It seems these hire cars are only issued for a certain period then recalled for sale. Our own car is still awaiting the coolant refit and has been outside the Kia garage in Llandudno since last August! Yes, it’s crazy - but at least we have a superior model in the meantime.
We consider going for a drive this afternoon, but in the end it’s only to the surgery where I need to sort out my supply of dressings. I just feel rather weary and decide to keep to garden photography today.
I’m thinking bees or hover flies, but I’m urprised to spot what I first think of as a butterfly seeming to crash land on the far side of the lawn, but on closer inspection realise it is in fact a moth. I rarely see them and think the only type I’ve ever photographed has been the burnet moth - so distinctive in its dark spotted cloak. This, on the other hand, is a Silver Y, the most common immigrant moth - or at least that’s what my photo identifier tells me! (Better viewed large if you have time)
