There was enough time this morning to go up part of Arthur’s Seat above Samson’s Ribs. It’s a lovely short walk that I used to do frequently when I stayed nearby. There are views to the south and west and also northwest across Holyrood Park to the Old Town of Edinburgh and Salisbury Crags. Occasionally brief glimpses of sun lit up Edinburgh in the distance although the crags are in shade here and regrettably the track at the base of the crags is still closed due to falling rocks. The blustery wind was blowing so it was not easy to get a still shot of the foxgloves. Then I walked along the ridge at St Leonard's Crag where those trees are, then leaving the peace and quiet for the busy streets of the city and onwards to meet S at the Usher Hall to hear a brilliant 19 year old give an organ recital.
